In the spring, Jenny poured life into creating an ecosystem. It was an entire acre of forest land and she wanted to breathe life into this space. She was told nothing would grow, the land was cursed.
Regardless, she spent the past two months of backbreaking work prepping hundreds of inoculated logs with mushroom spores, planting dozens upon dozens of conifers, and throwing wildflower seeds into the wind.
With hope in her heart, Jenny waited for life to start arriving. She waited and waited... and waited.
Nothing grew, just died back. All her hard work was composting before her eyes.
